Main duties of the job

Training will be provided if required. What you will be doing

The role is Part-Time Night Support Worker, 20 hours per week, rolling rota, including weekends.

The role involves providing overnight support for 12 adult clients within a residential care home. The home has a client that is immobile and a wheelchair user, requiring full support throughout the night to ensure their safety, comfort, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting an immobile client with moving and handling using a hoist (training can be provided if required)
  • Carrying out regular welfare checks during the night
  • Completing hourly checks on a client located on the third floor of the property (Please note there is no lift access within the house)
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns appropriately
  • Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive night-time environment

This role is physically demanding and includes:

  • Manual handling
  • Frequent use of stairs throughout the night
  • Maintaining alertness during night shifts

This also supports developing further independence and social skills, including participating in meal preparation, learning about safety measures both in their environment and out in the community.
