Job summary

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapist at the Chimney's Hospital, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments, planning and reviewing treatment programmes under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals, and supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways, and protocols. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to create a therapeutic environment that empowers the recovery of the women in your care.

Under supervision, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating evidence-based group and individual programmes. You will create individual rapports with service users to empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist you will be:

  • Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
  • Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
  • Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies
  • Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at St Mary's Hospital.
  • Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy 
  • A UK HCPC registration or applied for
  • Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills

Location: New Road, Rougham Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP30 9LR

You will be working at the Chimney’s Clinic, a 12 bedded service that offers specialist care that is specifically designed to support women that have a diagnosis of an emerging or personality disorder.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary tem at the Chimney’s, providing a therapeutic environment to aid the recovery for each young woman within their journey. The focus of the service is to enable the young women to work on ways to decrease harmful behaviours and replace them with effective strategies to enhance their lives and help them reach their personal life goals.
