Main duties of the job

As a Support Worker, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care and support to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. You will use your knowledge, experience, and caring nature to help individuals along their recovery pathway, enabling them to lead more valued and fulfilled lives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, behavior analysis and adaptation, patient record updates, and providing overall care and support, which may involve assisting with personal hygiene. The role requires a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance to handle the sometimes challenging environment, but it is highly rewarding to see the positive impact you can have on people's lives.

 What you will be doing:   You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Location: Tottle Brook House, Calverton Drive, Strelley, Nottingham, NG8 6QN

Tottle Brook House consists of five bespoke, single-person apartments within a registered care setting with 24 hour nursing support. It provides a robust environment and high intensity care model which is designed to support people who have a Learning Disability & Autism with highly complex needs and behaviours that challenge, enabling them to live meaningful lives as active members of the community. This includes service users who may be stepping down from hospital or whose community placements have broken down.     The aim of the service is to support people to move back to their home area and be closer to their families.    Your career within Elysium will be enjoyable and rewarding as you develop specialist skills and make a real difference for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
