Job summary

  • Working as an Emergency Medical Technician Apprentice with OSR Medical Ambulance Service will give you a sense of satisfaction that is found in very few other jobs. Every day is different, yet rewarding, and youll be giving something back to the community.
  • OSR Medical Ambulance Service is a registered Independent Ambulance Service provider in the Healthcare sector. We provide frontline emergency & urgent care services and private Patient Transport Services (PTS).
  • The role will act as part of a Double Crewed Ambulance (DCA) in an urgent and emergency pre-hospital setting, to safely transport patients, in a clinically appropriate and professional way. You will be treating patients that access the 999, primary and secondary care systems, who present with a wide range of conditions from the serious emergency life threating to everyday health issues. The role operates in-line with current company policies, best practice guidelines and engaging in person centred patient care by accessing a variety of pathways, to offer appropriate treatment options.
  • This role is designed to start your career in the Ambulance Service sector and help develop your skills in emergency care, treating patients. You will take part in the assessment days and start training on the specified dates below. If you are unable to make any of the dates, please do not make an application at this time.
  • This role is a full time contract so that we can support you better in your learning and experience.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Driving is an essential skill for this role, so must have held a full manual driving licence for 12 months, with a provisional C1 category and no more than 6 penalty points. If a provisional C1 entitlement is held, the applicant must pass their C1 test before their start date.
  • We are looking for people who can demonstrate our values of Customers, Staff and Standards in all that they do. So, if you clearly demonstrate that you meet the essential criteria, then we will invite you to an assessment day. This will include checks of your application paperwork, an interview, and a driving assessment in a large, manual, van-sized vehicle. We will need to see your driving licence before we can take you out for the driving assessment and you must have provisional C1 to undertake this assessment.
  • Please read the person specification & job description carefully and make sure that all the minimum requirements are clearly noted on your application form in the correct place.
  • Interviews and assessment days will be held at our Tockwith Station. You will be required to attend all assessments. These can be conducted in any order; however, they will be on fixed dates.
