Job summary

Cambian Meeko House isa 16 bedded childrens residential home catering for 12 18-year-olds with on-going mental health needs and challenging behaviors that may prevent them from functioning within the community without continued support

Main duties of the job

You will be providing a therapeutic service to young people placed within Meeko House by assessing and identifying their needs and meeting them through consultation and training to Residential and Educational staff, direct therapeutic work, care planning and management in conjunction with the Multi-disciplinary team. Dependant on your experience you may be required to supervise other Mental Health Practitioners, Clinical Psychology Trainees, Healthcare Students and Assistants.

Job Role

You will be providing a therapeutic service to young people placed within Meeko House by assessing and identifying their needs and meeting them through consultation and training to Residential and Educational staff, direct therapeutic work, care planning and management in conjunction with the Multi-disciplinary team.

So, subsequently, you will formulate and implement plans of therapeutic intervention/management of children and young peoples presentation based on psychological understanding the difficulties within a current evidence-based practice, in conjunction with the wider MDT at the setting.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward-thinking Mental Health Practitioner to join our friendly team.

Essential:

Intellectual disability nursing qualification or experience

Learning Difficulties Nursing Qualification or experience required

Registered with a relevant professional organisation (HCPC etc)

Be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills

Good organisational and time management skills.

Beneficial

Previous experience in working with children & adolescents is advantageous. Mental Health Nurse background CAMHS experience
