Main duties of the job
Are you an ambitious Occupational Therapists looking for a new challenge, career development and have experience of working in a forensic setting?
Coveberry Oldbury part of the Caretech Group, provides specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for men with a primary diagnosis of learning disability or autism, whose behaviours challenge. Our expert teams are able to support individuals with a forensic or offending history and offer a range of offender behaviour programmes, adapted for people with a learning disability. The hospital has 13 en-suite bedrooms and two independent living flats, which enables our multidisciplinary team to assess and consolidate skills and risk assess in an environment that replicates community living, prior to discharge

We believe that a person-centred, integrated approach to providing rehabilitation is fundamental to delivering high quality care.
Job
You will work alongside a full multidisciplinary team including clinicians and hospital staff. Working autonomously, you will provide quality assessments, reports and interventions and working to embed coping strategies across the environment in relation to activity adaptation and therapeutic outcomes. You will be required to exercise leadership, driving service delivery for occupational therapy which our model of care focuses on relapse prevention, positive risk taking role and personalisation.
As part of our positive behaviour support approach we will complete a functional assessment of behaviour, define and measure target behaviours, develop a range of functional skills and reactive strategies, provide positive reinforcement and systematic feedback and adopt predictable, planned interventions to de-escalate
Taking a hands on approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills.
Candidate profile
- You must have a degree or a post graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Experience in working with mental Health Needs
- Have alicenceand access to own transport.
- Be a strong team player.
- Have excellent communication,organisationaland time management skills
