Job summary

The Head of Business Partnering will shape and drive a strategic business partnering function that directly impacts gross margin performance through effective management of people costs, wage bill optimisation, and workforce productivity.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the Chief People Officer aligning and delivering the People & Education strategy with commercial priorities, ensuring the people agenda contributes measurable value to business growth and profitability. We are looking for an experienced Business Partner to lead and manage the People Business Partners and People Service Delivery team. This role is crucial in delivering and implementing key elements of the People strategy that align to the company's objectives and foster a positive and inclusive work culture

Job description

Job responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can: Lead the People Business Partnering team, embedding a true partnership model with business leaders to influence strategic decision-making. Translate commercial goals into people initiatives that maximise workforce effectiveness and deliver tangible ROI. Partner with Finance and Operations to provide insight and analysis on wage bill, labour costs, and productivity, identifying opportunities to improve gross margin. Lead workforce planning, ensuring optimal resource allocation to balance cost efficiency and business needs. Drive programs that enhance workforce productivity, leveraging technology, skills development, and organisational design. Partner with leaders to identify performance gaps and implement targeted interventions. Support the CPO with relevant due diligence on the people aspect including managing a project plan. Manage the compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with relevant regulation in line with business needs and colleague feedback. Conduct market research to benchmark compensation and benefits against industry standards. To lead the annual Great Places to Work accreditation by creating a positive and engaging work environment to foster employee satisfaction, motivation, and loyalty. To lead and drive to improvements on Thrive at Work accreditation levels with a robust year on year action plan covering key health and wellbeing initiatives, such as wellness programs, and work-life balance initiatives. Act as an advisor to the People Business Partner team on case management. Oversee, monitor the overall activity including presenteeism, informal and formal cases. Advise management and deputise for the Chief People Office as and when needed.
