Main duties of the job
The Director of Risk and Compliance will be responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of CHECs organisation-wide risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organisation operates within legal, contractual and regulatory parameters, including those set by NHS England, the CQC, the ICO, ISO and other statutory bodies.
You will lead the development and implementation of CHECs corporate risk register, business continuity planning, internal audit function, and compliance frameworks. Youll also play a key role in cultivating a positive culture of openness, safety, and learning across the organisation.

Lead, inspire, and develop multidisciplinary teams across governance, audit, cyber security, and assurance.
Develop and embed a proactive organisation-wide risk framework that captures operational, financial, clinical, reputational, digital and strategic risks.
Lead on the implementation and testing of Business Continuity Planning and Emergency Preparedness in line with national standards.
Oversee regulatory audits, inspections, and assurance reviews while ensuring prompt and effective action on findings.
Maintain and govern a comprehensive suite of corporate policies and procedures to ensure legal, contractual, and regulatory compliance.
Lead the integrated assurance framework including internal audit, cyber resilience, and IG protocols.
Collaborate across departments to support compliance and resilience in service delivery, IT systems and information governance.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS England, ICBs, and regulatory bodies.
