Main duties of the job

An brand new opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Architect to join the team. This is an exciting time to join us as we are growing the IT function at CHEC, and as this is a brand new role there is an opportunity to make a real impact. The Cloud Architect will lead and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. We are looking for someone to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud-based systems.

Oversee the architecture, configuration, and management of the cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager templates. Ensure the security and compliance of cloud-based systems, implementing best practices for data protection and access control. Continuously monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance. Implement automation processes for deployment, scaling, and maintenance of cloud resources. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and DevOps engineers, to integrate cloud solutions into the software development lifecycle.
