ACHE (Academy of Community Health Experts) is seeking Independent Clinical Contractors to deliver our clinical services in the community and currently have vacancy for an Ear Wax Microsuction Specialist.

Job responsibilities

Assess patients' ear health and determine the need for ear wax removal through a thorough examination of the ear canal and eardrum. Be competent at ear wax removal with water irrigation and microsuction. Actively promote a patient focused approach and apply such principles throughout the service. Educate patients on proper ear hygiene, prevention of ear wax buildup, and the importance of regular ear care. Attendance at regular update meetings and training courses as appropriate. Involvement with the maintenance and calibration of technical equipment. Maintain patient records appropriately.

  • Certificated evidence of training in ear wax removal and microsuction techniques.
  • A good understanding of ear anatomy, physiology, and common ear conditions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clinical information to the hearing impaired, their families and carers
  • Ability to use computerised patient management system
  • Good time management skills - Good organisational skills- Good written communication
  • Ability to formulate appropriate clinical management strategies based on case history and relevant test results
  • Theoretical knowledge of digital hearing aid fitting.
