Main duties of the job
The Patient Safety Coordinator will be a key member of CHECs Quality, Risk and Compliance Team, and will contribute to all aspects of patient safety and incident management functions to support the delivery of high quality, safe care for all who use our services.
This is a brand new role and we are looking for someone who can coordinate and implement the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) in conjunction with the Head of Quality Governance, Risk & Patient Safety.

Promote a systems approach to incident investigations.
Ensure that patient safety incidents are identified on the central database and reported onwards to the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) database.
Lead or support patient safety improvement projects. With a focus on leading the implementation of the NHS patient safety strategy and response framework.
Develop and deliver a variety of education programmes for patient safety.
Contribute to the Governance Team working closely with Head of Quality Governance, Risk & Patient Safety in promoting patient safety, clinical quality and the Clinical Governance strategy within the hospital.
Develop and implement patient safety systems, processes, and initiatives in line with national and organisational needs.
