Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to lead our GP Federation's operational functions in Primary Care.

The role will support the Director of Operations in the federations operational functions across the 4 PCNs. The role will primarily focus on managing Advanced Roles and Responsibilities (ARRS) within the federation, ensuring efficient delivery of healthcare services. The Head of Operations will deputise for the Director of Operations and will be expected to display excellent, efficient communication channels helping to assist in providing solutions to complex problems and aid service improvement

Main duties of the job

About us

Healthcare Central London Ltd (HCL) is the GP Federation owned by our 33 General Practices covering the Central London (Westminster) area. The organisation supports 4 Primary Care Networks (PCNs). We operate several NHS contracts on behalf of our PCNs including a Community Dermatology Service; Community Cardiology Service and a Secondary Care Referral Service and an out-of-hospitals provision which is sub-contracted to our 33 General Practices.

On behalf of our practices we are the host employers of a large, and rapidly growing team of ARRS (AdditionalRoles Reimbursementscheme) roles including Clinical Pharmacists; Pharmacy Technicians; First Contact Physiotherapists; Dieticians; Paramedics; Social Prescribers; Care Coordinators, Digital & Transformation Leads, Nursing Associates, GPAs and Care Co-ordinators.

Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize ARRS roles, enhancing patient care and service efficiency.

Collaborate with clinical teams to align operational processes with clinical goals, emphasizing ARRS functions.

Work closely with other members of the senior management team to ensure services are effectively managed and high quality care is delivered to patients.

Manage resources effectively, including staffing, budget allocation, and technology infrastructure.

Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including NHS partners, GP practices and community organizations.

Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, implementing data-driven improvements to operational processes.

Stay abreast of regulatory changes, especially around ARRS funding and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.

Contract manage third parties that provide ARRS services ensuring safe, effective, data driven care is given and KPIs are managed and achieved.

Work closely with the federation finance director and finance team on ARRS financials
