Job summary
Physiological Measurements Ltd is seeking an
enthusiastic and skilled Sonographer to join our award-winning team in
Manchester. We deliver high-quality community diagnostics, with a focus on
non-obstetric ultrasound services, supporting patients close to home.
Main duties of the job
You will perform a range of non-obstetric ultrasound investigations, including:
- General Abdominal
- Gynaecology
- Renal/Bladder/Prostate
- Testicular
- Musculoskeletal (MSK)
- Small parts, lumps and bumps
- Vascular
Youll work independently to undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging, formulate clinical reports, and contribute to service development and innovation. The role involves working across various clinic locations, so the ability to travel independently is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging independently
- Formulate and issue clinical reports
- Promote effective professional practices and deliver evidence-based care
- Participate in clinical audits and liaise with referrers
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults and children
- Assist with training and mentoring new Sonographers
- Support clinical triage and risk assessments
- Plan, assess, deliver, and evaluate your own workload

- Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or overseas equivalent
- Professional registration with HCPC/SOR/RCT
- Minimum 2 years independent scanning and reporting experience
- UK or international driving licence (with a view to acquiring a UK licence)
- Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
- Overseas applicants must possess IELTS Level 7
Desirable

- Experience in MSK ultrasound techniques
- NHS experience
- Good IT skills
