At Care in Mind our homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and our staff enjoy coming to work. As a Deputy Manager your role will involve working alongside and being supported by a multi-disciplinary team including Nurses, Psychologists and Psychiatrists. You will support the Registered Manager, helping plan rota's for the staff, conducting monthly supervisions, and assisting the team with their learning and development ensuring all the relevant training and inductions are completed.

At our home in Bromborough you will be working with young people who have a variety of mental health diagnosis including personality disorder, disordered eating, and complex post-traumatic stress disorder and those who use self-harm as a strategy to cope with their emotions. Several of our young people are preparing for moving on positively from the home into the community. Your role will include supporting them with their daily living - meal preparation, food shopping, prompting for self-care, medication administration, medical appointments, and general upkeep of their home. Our young people enjoy doing activities out of the home including clothes shopping, swimming, meals out, attending youth clubs and other groups, pamper sessions and cinema trips, which you will be able to support with.

This spacious property blends historic character with modern living, featuring open-plan rooms, high ceilings, and large windows, creating a bright, airy environment. Cherryhurst House is well-connected by public transport, making commuting and travel around the region convenient. Bromborough Train Station is approximately a 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk from the property. For local bus services, Bromborough is well-served with regular buses that connect the area to Birkenhead, as well as offering routes to Liverpool city centre. For drivers, the M53 motorway is easily accessible from Southfield House. Bromborough is a peaceful yet well-connected area with a variety of local amenities. Just a short distance from the house, Croft Retail and Leisure Park offers a wide selection of supermarkets, shops, cafes, and restaurants, ensuring all daily needs are met for our young people. Bromborough Village itself features local shops, pubs, and other essential services, while healthcare needs are served by Bromborough Health Centre and other medical facilities in the area. The area offers several beautiful parks and green spaces. Wirral Country Park is just a short drive away, providing scenic walking trails, cycling routes, and nature reserves.

The role will include some fewer fun aspects such as incident management, de-escalation of challenging behaviours, completing several online records, report writing, audits, and medication management.

Previous experience of working with young people who have mental health needs is essential and ideally you will have worked as a Support Worker in a similar environment. You will receive full training and ongoing support & mentoring from our friendly residential and clinical team. Qualifications

Essential

• Must hold a Level 3 in Health and Social care or equivalent

Experience

Essential

• Experience in working within residential services
• Minimum of 12 months supervisory management experience

Skills

Essential

• Excellent understanding of mental health and the issues young people face
• To have a good understanding of Health and Social Care.
• To have a full clean driving license and access to a car for work purposes

Desirable

• Ability to control and manage of budgets
• Skills in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.
• Previous experience in conducting disciplinary investigations and fact finds

Other

Essential

• Experience with working with Quality Care Commission (CQC) or Ofsted registered services.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to lead and manage a staff team to achieve highest possible standards for the service, staff and young people.
