We're looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric Pre Assessment Unit at The Portland Hospital. Currently rated Good by the CQC, The Portland Hospital is the UKs only fully private hospital dedicated to women and children. Main duties of the job

As a deputy to the Sister/Charge Nurse, the Senior Staff Nurse is instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are delivered in the pre-assessment unit. You will be assessing paediatric patients pre-operatively, working closely with Consultants, Anaesthetists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a smooth surgical pathway. Additionally, you will provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, work within safeguarding frameworks, and ensure all pre-operative documentation is accurately maintained to uphold patient safety and hospital standards.

  • Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Children's Nursing or equivalent
  • Registered Children's Nurse (NMC)
  • Level 3 safeguarding children training undertaken within the last 12 months
