This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist to join The Christie Private Care's highly skilled Cancer Nursing Team. The role is particularly focused on Hepatobiliary, Neuroendocrine, and Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer, ensuring patients receive expert, holistic care throughout their journey. As part of HCA Healthcare UK and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust partnership, this role is located within a highly specialized, cutting-edge environment.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Case Management: Manage a caseload of patients diagnosed with, and undergoing treatment for, hepatobiliary, neuroendocrine, and upper gastrointestinal cancers.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate closely with Consultant medical staff, ward and departmental teams, and other Clinical Nurse Specialists within The Christie hospital to ensure a seamless care pathway.
- Patient Support: Conduct holistic needs assessments for both inpatient and outpatient services within your speciality.
- Oncology Expertise: Your expertise inMedical and Clinical Oncology, along with knowledge ofsurgical and radiological interventionsfor Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary cancers, will be pivotal.
