Were looking for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapy team at The Portland Hospital, currently rated Good by the CQC and home to the largest private hospital-based rehabilitation centre in the UK.

Our specialist paediatric, maternity and women's health units are staffed by experienced consultants and nursing staff, all of whom have access to advanced medical technology and help ensure a positive patient experience for those who visit us.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist you will have a proven track record of working with children who have complex needs.

In return for your expertise, youll have the chance to work alongside some of the top consultants, get access to training and professional development and work with high level, state-of-the-art, assistive technology to supplement your Speech and Language Therapy interventions.

What youll bring:

  • Professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy

  • Registered member of HCPC

  • At least 5 years experience of working within paediatrics and complex needs such as autism and TBI.

  • Competent in dysphagia

  • ADOS trained or willing to undergo training

  • Experience of MDT working

  • Providing supervision to B6 outpatient SLT

  • Support SLT lead in managing outpatient service and oversee day to day running of outpatient clinic

  • Ideally experience of working with bilingual families and with interpreters and willing to see inpatients when required
