Healthcare Assistant - Theatres

The Christie Private Care

Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Shifts - 4 days per week, 7:30am-6pm with occasional later shifts including 9pm finish

Permanent Salary - Competitive plus 4% shift allowance

We are looking for a Health Care Assistant with experience working in an Operating Theatre or a Hospital background to join our Theatres Department at The Christie Private Care currently rated Outstanding by the CQC.

The Christie Private Care is part of the established leading private healthcare company, HCA Healthcare. Established for over 50 years. The Christie Private Care treats private patients with a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day case and outpatient treatment all on one site.

Main duties of the job

What you will do

Preparation of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule to ensure smooth transition of patients

Maintaining storage and equipment cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.

Collecting and escorting the patient, and assisting with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.

Assisting with the safe positioning of patient on operating table.

Acting as circulating person for the scrub team, within the scope of the role.

6 months + Experience working in Theatres as a HCA

Knowledges on Healthcare Computer Systems, Meditech, Theatre Man, Microsoft, outlook, Infection prevention control knowledge.

Experience working with Robotic Surgeries (Desirable, not essential)

  • 6 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a Theatre environment
  • Good knowledge of Computer/Outlook systems

Desirable

  • NVQ or Care Certificate desirable
  • Experience working in a Theatre department that works with Robotic surgeries desirable
