Job summary
Promote and support the operation of our school aged immunisation service delivered on-site in schools for children of primary and secondary age, with follow up clinics within the community.
The role is to support the Nursing team daily in Primary and Secondary schools delivering the Flu Vaccinations. This role is mainly community with but does include some office based days.
Main duties of the job
As part of the School Aged Immunisation service (SAIS), you will ensure immunisation sessions run efficiently. You will manage the flow of pupils at sessions, and work with school staff and clinical colleagues to deliver a safe immunisation session on site in schools and community settings.

Since 2015, NHS England has contracted Vaccination UK, a dynamic and rapidly growing company, to provide school-aged immunisations, including influenza vaccinations, to students in many counties and boroughs across England, including the Black Country, Hertfordshire, Hereford and Worcester, and nine North East London boroughs.

- Understand the relevant requirements for storage and transport instructions for immunisations, collection and delivery of vaccinations to site.
- Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of health promotion / education and public health activities related to the SAIS, in conjunction with the team.
- Ensure infection control procedures are followed and Identify risks / clinical incidents following policy and informing line manager.
- Promote and facilitate collaborative working between the school aged immunisation team, schools and other educational institutions and families in the delivery of the school aged immunisation programme.
- Support the Team Lead with duties as requested. These dutiesmaybe office based, and require the post holder to undertake mixed administrative duties.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position

- GCSEs Grade C or above in English or Maths.
- Must be IT literate proficiency in Excel and Word as a minimum.
Desirable
- nterpersonal skills must be excellent communicators and happy to work in busy environments and be able to deal with stressful situations.
- Must be willing to work with young children.
- Professionalism takes pride in their appearance and represent the service in a professional manner when dealing with school staff, parents and pupils.
- Ability to prioritise work.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Computer literate.
- Effective communication skills with children and adults .
