Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the safe and efficient running of our theatres. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available for specific procedures
- Planning and delivering high standards of perioperative care, following hospital guidelines and protocols while promoting a consistently patient-centred approach
- Planning, preparing and facilitating theatre lists as required
- Accurately entering patient information into relevant IT systems
- Ensuring patient care areas are safe, well-maintained and fit for purpose
- Maintaining the safe custody and handling of medications and controlled drugs
- Supporting highquality, evidencebased care across our three theatres
- Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, safe and effective patient journeys

- First level Registered Nurse/HCPC registered ODP.
- SFA qualification is essential.
- Post registration education in a relevant speciality, Degree in Healthcare or 5+ years equivalent experience
- Expert Scrub nurse with post qualification scrub experience in a range of surgical specialties.
- Excellent organisational planning and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to build and support team working in a positive and challenging culture
- Strong patient-centred approach
- Basic computer skills e.g. MS Outlook and web-based reporting systems.
- Foster a culture of professionalism and a positive working team environment
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity and ethics in the workplace
