Working hours:Saturdays 4 hours per week 0900- 1300

Salary:£13.20 per hour Weekend Rate

33 days leave inclusive of bank holidays FTE

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a reliable and compassionate individual to join our friendly team as a Phlebotomist within our Primary Care Services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about patient care and eager to develop their skills in a healthcare setting.

You will be responsible for taking blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing, ensuring that all procedures are carried out safely and efficiently while adhering to professional standards and infection control guidelines.

Main duties of the job

  • Working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols to assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
  • Collecting samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures, ensuring correct storage, labelling, recording and efficient dispatching of samples.
  • Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible, and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
  • Checking patient identification against GP or nurse request, and confirming with the patient whenever possible.
  • Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff.
  • Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team.
  • Any other duties where necessary within role remit.
