Job summary

KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we are recruiting.  We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our team in supporting KIMS Hospitals Medical Secretaries.  This role is a development opportunity for someone who is interested in understanding the full Medical Secretary role.

Main duties of the job

  • Working with the Private GP Secretary to manage appointments, dictations, letters, enquiries into the department and all general administration
  • To work alongside the team to support the growth of the Private GP service
  • Take on specific administration tasks to support the extended Medical Secretary Team
  • When required act as the link between consultants, patients and KIMS Hospital
  • Typing of clinical correspondence and audio typing where necessary
  • Keeping records up to date and filing/scanning information for patient records
  • To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave
  • Support the wider team with patient appointments and theatre bookings
  • Support with the triaging of online appointment bookings
  • Liaise with patients, consultants and other staff at KIMS Hospital
  • Assisting with all other duties within the team as required on a daily basis
