Due to a growth in service we have an exciting opportunity for a strong and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Inpatients team as a Staff Nurse. You will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Inpatient team, assessing, planning and delivering care based on individual patient needs. This role is ideally suited to a registered nurse who is completely patient focused, with a proven ability to provide healthcare at its best and would like to progress their career in a clinical environment that promotes staff development.  Experience in surgical nursing is desirable but not essential.

This is a 37.5 hour per week contract working 3 shifts per week between Monday - Sunday 07:30 - 20:00 or 19:30 - 08:15 on a rota basis

Main duties of the job

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions, working within the NMC code of conduct
  • Assess, plan and deliver patient care from admission to discharge
  • Support and act as role model for junior staff, promoting a learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care.
  • Promote and initiate innovation and new ideas in methods of care delivery and effective use of resources, direct resource planning, ensuring maximum utilisation of skills and knowledge.
