Due to a growth in service we have a very rare and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse with an interest in interventional Cardiology to join the only Private and Self Pay Cardiac Catheter Laboratory in Kent as a trainee Cardiac Cath Lab Staff Nurse.  You will be fully trained in the pre-assessment of Cath Lab patients, processing the admission and recovery of patients, and scrubbing and running for procedures.

This role is ideally suited to a Registered Nurse with post registration experience and a desire to develop specialist skills and gain expert cardiac knowledge in coronary angiograms, PCI, Pacing and EP Studies.

Your working hours will be 28.5 Hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm, 10am - 6pm or11am – 7pm on a rota basis. 

Main duties of the job

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Providing care and support to patients throughout their pathway with KIMS Hospital including pre-operative assessment right through to discharge
  • Scrub for a case load of patients undergoing cardiac procedures including catheterisation, pacing and ICD fitting
  • Ensure the patient experience and well-being remain at the heart of the business at all times and best practices are implemented and maintained within the Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Assist the cardiac technicians and radiographers as necessary in placing ECG electrodes, setting up transducers and preparing equipment ready for procedures
  • Day to day duties of a cardiac nurse including taking bloods, cannulation, performing angiograms, pacing’s as well as assessing and monitoring patients
