Job summary

KIMS Hospital are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Lead CT 7 & Governance Radiographer who is looking looking for a new challenge with a dynamic company that puts patient experience at the heart of everything it does. 

This position is suitable for a radiographer with a proven interest in clinical governance, teaching and leading a CT service.

As a CT Clinical Lead Radiographer, you will ensure the efficient and effective provision of a Diagnostic Imaging Service in the CT department, managing activity, resources, people and information to achieve agreed levels and standards of service delivery. 

As the Clinical Governance lead for the Imaging Department you will be the RPS and have a responsibility for ensuring that we are compliant with IRMER and IRR2017.  You will have responsibility for ensuring that radiographer training and competencies are up to date and will work with the KIMS Quality and Governance team to identify and mitigate risks and suggest and implement quality improvements.

Main duties of the job

KIMS Hospital provides diagnostic imaging for both NHS and private patients so experience in radiography in the public sector is beneficial.

You will be working within our state-of-the art Imaging Centre, that is a GE flagship site with access to the most up to date technology.

Starting Salary: £39,000-£42,000 depending on experience

Working Hours & Shifts: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Sunday including evenings.  In addition, there will be a requirement to support our on-call services

  • To carry out high quality diagnostic imaging examinations in a way which meets patients’ needs within the Imaging Department of KIMS Hospital.
  • To develop the CT service that is progressive and responsive to service needs.
  • To be responsible for the day to day organisation of the CT modality of the department.
  • Acting as an operator under the IRMER Radiation Regulations and assess the clinical justifications of referrals to ensure that the benefit to the patient outweighs the radiation risk
  • Actively encouraging collaborative working relationships with the clinical and administration teams to ensure radiology reports are processed quickly and efficiently.

Person Specification:

  • Have a Diploma from the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Radiography with a valid HCPC registration
  • Extensive Experience working in CT Radiography
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be absolutely patient focused with a drive to offering the highest standard of patient care at all times
  • Be an expert in building relationships with an intuitive and persuasive style that enables you to easily engage with consultants, patients and the wider radiological faculty. 
  • College of Radiographers accredited IV cannulation course or equivalent

Experience working in general x-ray and MRI is desirable but not essential.
