Theatre Practitioner – Scrub / Anaesthetics

Contract: Full Time Permanent (37.5 Hours Per Week)

Salary: £29,000 - £31,500 per annum. 

Hours: 4 days per week working between Monday and Saturday 07:30 – 18:00.

Location: Maidstone

Job Summary:

KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we are recruiting.   We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate registered practitioner to join our Theatres team as a Theatre Practitioner.  This role is ideally suited to a registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with demonstratable experience working in scrub and / or anaesthetics, who is looking to progress their perioperative career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential.

As a Theatre Practitioner you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, work flexibly across scrub and anaesthetics, as part of a team to ensure a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.

Main duties of the job

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Work primarily as an anaesthetic and scrub practitioner, occasionally being required to work as a recovery practitioner.
  • Assess patient care requirements independently and act as a resource for other staff. Implement patient care and evaluate outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, Imaging Department to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care.
  • Ensure that patients’ comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that your own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework.
