Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP to join the welcoming and well-established team at Presteigne Medical Centre, part of the Shropdoc family. This is more than a clinical role, its an opportunity to shape new models of rural primary care and make a real impact on local communities.

The successful post-holder will work as a salaried GP providing primary care for approximately 3,600 patients. Presteigne is part of the Mid-Powys Primary Care Cluster, which has a combined list size of around 31,000 patients.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care via consultations, triage, and home visits.
  • Manage long-term conditions and supervise clinical staff.
  • Prescribe in line with local and national guidance.
  • Contribute to audits, governance, and quality improvement.
  • Mentor and lead within a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice.
  • Relevant higher degree ie: MRCGP or equivalent.
  • On the GMC GP Register & Welsh Medical Performers List.
  • Experience in NHS General Practice & Primary Care.
  • Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, IT, and team-working skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and commit to on-call duties.
