Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionateResident Medical Officer (RMO)to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to inpatients and outpatients, supporting consultants during ward rounds, and ensuring timely clinical assessments and interventions. The RMO will play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and communication across multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates should hold a recognized medical degree, be registered with the appropriate medical council, and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Main duties of the job
Support the team in implementation of an agreed plan of care with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received.
To be part of a team providing 24 hour medical cover for all routine medical care and response to consultant requests. Immediate first line resuscitation to patients, visitors or staff member as required.
To assist in the management of patients and provide back-up support to consultant
Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Contribute to the legality and accuracy of the patients care plan/ and or other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication /reporting system over the full 24hrs.
Undertake tasks and procedures, in which competency has been assessed and recorded specific to the care environment.
All team members are responsible for behaving in a manner that does not put themselves, patients, visitors and other team members in danger or at risk in the clinical environment.
To take charge of the clinical area as required, ensuring effective operational management of clinical area on a daily basis.
Be an advocate for change, looking for ways to improve the value and effectiveness of care and services delivered.
