Job description

Job responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality CT examinations compliant with DHC, local, regional andnational clinical guidelines and IR(ME)R regulations to support robust diagnosticoutcomes and patient safety.

2. Exercise professional autonomy, critical decision-making and clinical reasoning tooptimise imaging pathways and uphold the highest standards of diagnostic accuracyand safety.

3. Deliver a confident, informed and compassionate clinical experience that promotespatient dignity, comfort and trust throughout the imaging process.

4. Ensure accurate patient verification and data input to safeguard clinical integrity,reduce risk, and maintain reliable imaging records.

5. Apply recognised manual handling techniques and appropriate clinical assistance toenable safe patient transfer, positioning and participation in imaging procedures.

6. Maintain a clean, safe and compliant CT environment using approved infection control protocols to minimise biohazard risk and ensure operational readiness.

7. Facilitate effective and timely communication with hospital teams, Trustrepresentatives, radiologists and patient services to ensure continuity of care andresponsive service management.

8. Oversee accurate, complete and timely upload, documentation and reportingescalation to support efficient radiologist workflows and clinical decision-making.

9. Monitor scanner performance, subsystems and stock requirements to maintain operational reliability and support proactive maintenance and service continuity.

10. Pursue ongoing CPD, adherence to radiographic codes of conduct and engagementwith emerging CT practices to sustain fitness to practise and high professionalstandards.

11. Support the development of radiographers and clinical colleagues to strengthenworkforce capability and uphold consistent service quality.

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated understanding of patient care, health & safety, and continuous professional development (CPD) requirements.
  • Up to date with IRMER regulations, DRLs and report any risks to RPS.
  • IT skills especially Microsoft office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working in a face paced environment.
  • Preparation of written reports
  • Managing & engaging stakeholders including senior management

Desirable

  • Understanding of independent healthcare
  • Risk management processes
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate experience in Radiographic techniques

Qualifications
