An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Occupational
Therapist to join the team at STEPS Rehabilitation based in Sheffield.
STEPS provide high quality care and rehabilitation to
residential and outpatient clients with a range of neurological conditions and
complex trauma injuries.

The purpose- built facility includes 23 en-suite bedrooms, a
therapy gym, games room, music room, therapy kitchen, Hydrotherapy pool, caf/

The Occupational therapy team works closely with the
Interdisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language
Therapists, Music Therapist, Psychology, Therapy Assistants, Nurses,
Consultants and Rehabilitation Assistants.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Occupational Therapist will be required to assess and
provide intervention addressing occupational performance in the areas of
self-care, leisure, and productivity. Goals are identified through
collaboration with the client, relatives, carers and Interdisciplinary team.
This includes off site community rehabilitation in the local community and visiting places that offer accessible activities.
There are opportunities for development with access to external courses and STEPS provide regular in-service training and supervision.

The role of the Specialist Occupational Therapist
(OT) is to provide high quality holistic therapy to our clients throughout
their journey alongside the inter-disciplinary team.

SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assess and provide OT assessment and intervention,
addressing occupational performance in the areas of self-care, leisure and
productivity
To deliver specialist OT assessment and
intervention to clients within specialist clinical areas
To undertake the client key worker role within
STEPS Rehabilitation
To involve clients and carers in the
development and delivery of goals within the rehabilitation plan
To assess, implement and monitor individual
client rehabilitation plans
Carry out community visits and home
assessments to support a clients transition from STEPS
Identify a range of specialist equipment to
optimise functional independence, quality of life and manage risk
To complete required documentation including
clinical notes and comprehensive reports within a timely manner
To ensure accurate recording and monitoring of
relevant outcome measures
To apply manual handling principles as
outlined by legislation and department procedures

risk assessments
