General Practitioner - Enhanced Access

Job summary
The post holder will work as part of a team for Primary Care Enhanced Access Service based in both Havant and Waterlooville.
The post holder will provide clinical assessment and treatment for the delivery of a safe, efficient, and reliable clinical service. They will work closely with the Clinical Lead, and Service Manager. They will form links and develop relationships with secondary care and GP Service colleagues and those working in the wider healthcare community. The post holder will ensure patients receive optimal care in the correct setting within the healthcare system. In the planned primary care clinic, the patient will undergo clinical assessment and review, examination, appropriate investigations requested e.g., x-rays, scans, blood tests; and a diagnosis and management plan will be agreed. On occasions onward referrals may be needed to specialities and an expectation of a credible referral should be made.
The service is staffed by a team of GPs, Nurses, Paramedics, Healthcare assistants and non-clinical workforce.

Main duties of the job
You'll ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time, while contributing to the development of a high-quality, reliable service.
- Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
- Request and interpret investigations (e.g. x-rays, scans, blood tests).
- Make safe and appropriate referrals to secondary care.
- Deliver emergency care when required while awaiting transfer.
- Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues.
- Contribute to teaching, training, and service improvement.
