Job summary

PHL are looking for a Receptionist to work in the Urgent Treatment Centre in Lymington. As a key member of the team at PHL, your role is very important as the first point of contact for our patients.

A kind and empathetic person, you will be expected to take control and be accountable for the given situation, treating every patient with respect and providing confidence in our ability to deliver a great and caring service.

Hours

24.5 hours per week. The position holder must be able to work 4x 7-hour shifts one week and 3x 7-hour shifts the next week. The shifts will be a mixture of early and late i.e., 7:45 - 15:15 and 14:30 - 22:00. These hours will include weekends and bank holidays.

We are looking for suitable candidates who can commit to some or all of the hours shown above. An exact shift pattern can be discussed and confirmed at interview.

Main duties of the job

Receptionist Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answering the telephone promptly and deal with all enquiries, maintaining confidentially at all times
  • As an integral team member, you will efficiently manage patient and customer interactions, keeping them informed to the progress and liaising with your duty team leader as appropriate to ensure a seamless and first-class service is delivered.
  • Ensure the reception area is kept tidy and all areas are safe

  • Book patients in on arrival for Appointments + appointments Book where appropriate fracture clinics appointments internally and externally
  • Monitor the electronic booking system and liaise with Team Leader with any workload concerns
  • Manage expectations of the patients in the waiting area
  • Answer the telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, being aware of the need to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Perform Receptionist duties as required by the Team Leader / Line Manager and to ensure efficient systems are in place for the maintenance of all records in accordance with Statutory and Company procedures
  • Ensure the Reception area is kept tidy and all areas are safe
  • Accurately logging in / out of prescriptions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain stationery stocks
  • Ensure mandatory training is kept up to date in line with PHL policies and procedures

  • experience, Sensitivity and empathy with people from different backgrounds, Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy when dealing with patients and multidisciplinary team, Good standard of literacy, ability to work without close supervision, ability to use Microsoft office or other databases.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of Adastra and EMIS would be desirable.
