Our expanding therapy team is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support and work closely with our Occupational therapy team.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working alongside therapists supporting children and young people with a range of physical and sensory needs within a SEN environment. The candidate will be working with both therapists and the students so will need to be able to communicate effectively with both groups
Main duties of the job
The OT Assistant will work under the supervision of qualified Occupational Therapy staff contributing to assessment for and maintenance of specialist OT equipment.
The OT Assistant provides specialist technical support to the OT team around equipment such as wheelchairs and standing frames as well as supporting staff and parents/carers with basic maintenance tasks such as changing batteries and wheels.
The postholder will be able to undertake hands on work with therapy equipment as well as liaising with outside organisations when required.

Linden Lodge School provides a high-quality educational experience for visually impaired pupils, including those who are multi-disabled visually impaired and deaf-blindness. We are recognised as a specialist Regional Centre for children aged between two and nineteen. The school also supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Pupils attend the school on a day or residential basis.

- GCSE Maths and English or Equivalent at Grade C or above

- NVQ Level 3 in relevant subject area or equivalent

- Supporting Paediatric OT intervention
- Support people with learning disabilities or equivalent
- Supporting OT team in managing a complex caseload
- Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary Team
- Evidence of continuous professional development in relevant area
- Experience of organising and coordinating meetings/events
- Experience of dealing with confidential/sensitive information in line with GDPR provisions

- Knowledge and experience supporting students in specialist equipment
