Job summary

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to work for this world renowned childrens hospital on behalf of mitie.

Main duties of the job

  • Shift pattern 4 days on, 4 days off , 4 nights on, 4 days off
  • Work collaboratively as part of the estates team, to provide a full operation, maintenance, engineering and building Electrical service. Which meets statutory and contractual obligations.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to deliver assigned planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Use PDA technology to evidence compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, and personal productivity.
  • Carry out diagnostic checks and fault finding utilising multiskilled knowledge and experience supporting all estates teams within your own qualifications and or abilities.
  • Complete all work related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.Main Duties

  • Ensure assets work properly, are maintained in accordance with the contract, relevant Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), Health Building Memoranda (HBM), Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&M), and Manufacturer's Instructions; and maintained in a good state of repair, evidenced by accurate and complete equipment repair and maintenance CAFM records.
  • Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
  • Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.

    • Challenge and promote safe working ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) compliance is at the forefront of what is delivered as evidenced by application of Mitie's LiveSafe procedures, continuous improvement of Hazzard Observations reported through Mitie's LiveSafe application, no Lost Time Accidents (LTA) or serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases or specified dangerous occurrences (near misses) as defined by the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR).
    • Ensure effective Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are used for all works carried out by Mitie employees or subcontractors as evidenced by documented, readily available RAMS.
    • Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice. All employees who work in the Estates department are expected to cover for each other during holidays, leave or absences.
    • Carry out first line assessment, fault finding, repair, substitute service and/or safe isolation as required. This will involve flexible multi tasking across all trades e.g. electrical ,mechanical, plumbing, joinery, fabric, etc.
    • Pro-active and positive approach to work.
    • Must have sound interpersonal skills and pay attention to detail.
    • Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
    • Provide excellent customer service to the client and patients / visitors, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
    • Ensure clients operational procedures are always adhered to.
    • Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client's representative as and when required.
    • Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20kg.
    • Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment; able to work at height
