Job summary
As a key member of the team, you will support the department in the provision of pharmacy services including ordering, stock control and preparation of drugs and medicines.
Main duties of the job
Duties and responsibilities:
To provide an exemplary service to support the pharmacy department and other areas of the hospital that stock medicines, working within own level of competence and in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels
- Ordering drugs from manufacturers as required
- Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems
- Processing invoices
- Dispensing using computerised system. Stocking medications on wards and departments. Date checking of medications.
- Provide general administrative support to the department
- Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines, ensuring cost efficiency.

Have an NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy services assistant or equivalent is requiredExcellent communication skillsGood team playerProven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as requiredIt would also be desirable for the applicant to have experience working in a hospital environment however community experience is considered
Contract: Bank 0 hours flexible
Hours: As required but ideally available Wednesday & Friday. Hours will be within 8.30am-4.30pm. Occasional Sat am may be required.
