Sterile Services Technician | SSD | Spire South Bank Hospital | Worcester | Permanent - Full time| Salary - £24,219.00
Spire South Bank Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Sterile Services Decontamination Assistant to join the SSD team on a full time basis.
The suitable candidate will come in and work in the department by cleaning, sterilising and packing theatre instruments. Ensuring theatre instruments are correct and ready for use, this role is a physically demanding role which involved heavy lifting.

Main duties of the job
Duties and responsibilities.
- Undertake routine tasks related to individuals health and well-being.
- Checking correct instruments are on trays pre and post decontamination.
- Pack instruments/consumables for sterilisation.
- Complete tracking systems accurately.
- Monitor repairs of instruments
- Checking functioning of sterilising and decontamination equipment according to manufacturers instructions
- Decontamination of flexible endoscopes

Who we are looking for
- Certificate in Decontamination or NVQ level 3 in Decontamination
- Or TVQ level 1 & 2inDecontamination
- Or City and Guilds Certificates in Decontamination / Endoscopy
- Some Knowledge of decontamination of medical devices is essential.
- Knowledge of SSD machinery
- Basic awareness of health & safety and hygiene.
- Knowledge of basic instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of sterile packing techniques
- Knowledge of ISO standards
- Ability to train and supervise Level I staff in all areas
- The flexibility to work on our rota
- Excellent communication skills
Working Pattern: Various shifts between 7am-8pm including some Saturdays
