Job summary

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Sterile Services Assistant to join the SSD team on the bank. You will assist the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide exemplary care by ensuring theatre and endoscopy instrumentation and equipment are correct and ready for use.

Main duties of the job

Under general supervision, with opportunity to make independent decisions, performs duties that will include receiving, sorting, inspecting, cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, preparing, sterilizing, storing and issuing reusable surgical instruments and equipment.

Bank Sterile Services Assistant | Cambridge | Flexi Working Shifts | Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Sterile Services Assistant to join the SSD team on the bank. Duties and responsibilities: - Under general supervision, with opportunity to make independent decisions, performs duties that will include receiving, sorting, inspecting, cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, preparing, sterilizing, storing and issuing reusable surgical instruments and equipment. - To assist the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide exemplary care by ensuring theatre and endoscopy instrumentation and equipment are correct and ready for use. - Monitor repairs of instruments - Pack linen/instruments/consumables for sterilisation. - Checking functioning of sterilising and decontamination equipment according to manufacturer's instructions - Complete tracking systems accurately.
