Spire Thames Valley in Slough are now recruiting a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join their Pre Assessment team

Working hrs/days- Monday - Saturday 8am-4pm/9am-5pm. 5 out of 6 days on a rota.
Main duties of the job
Duties and responsibilities:
- Undertake routine tasks related to individuals health and well being
- Establish and maintain communication with people on routine care matters
- Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
- Ensure completion of competencies, relevant training and development.
- Ensures work load is carried out efficiently and to agreed standardised working practice and protocols.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Attendance at POA meetings and daily POA huddles where clinical outcome data is captured on POA clinical assurance board
- Obtain consent from individuals before starting the tasks/activities* which can include Phlebotomy Capillary blood testing Electrocardiogram (ECG) recording Point of care urine testing and urine samples including catheter specimens Baseline vital signs observations, NEWS 2, height and weight, BMI, Neck circumference MRSA/MSSA/COVID swabbing
- Record information related to designated tasks accurately and pass to the relevant person in the team.
- Identify normal parameters of test undertaken and be able to escalate these to the relevant person.
- Identify an unwell patient and be aware of own limitations and when to call for assistance.
- Maintain stock control of consumables used in the clinics
