Spire St Anthonys are looking for a Medical Lab Assistant to join them on a full time basis. You will be working in a busy lab environment so attention for detail is a must as well as a clear understanding of how to deal with patient data and deliver outstanding customer service to both your colleagues and patients.

Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey and South London. We have six operating theatres coving a wide range of specialities and procedure including Ortho, Gynae and Cardio. There is an ITU department providing care and accommodating more complex patients. We have a number of developmental training courses and progression opportunities available for our ambitious employees.

Main duties of the job

Duties and responsibilities

  • You will be part of an experienced and supportive pathology team working within a state-of-the-art lab
  • You will primarily be responsible for the receipt and processing of samples for our Biomedical Science Laboratory. This will include a high volume of sample handling through to packaging and ensuring they are sent to the correct department.
  • You will be working on a rolling rota basis covering shifts from 0800 to 1900 Monday to Friday, and includes on average one Saturday in three
  • You will beempathic to all patients and keep all patients data safe and secure
  • You willLiaise with Consultants & PAs to deliver lab results and reports as and when is needed
  • You willKeep and maintain accurate reporting of all samples bought in to the lab
