Job summary

Medinet Clinical Services Ltd are seeking committed Dermatologists to participate in outpatient clinics across the UK. Medinet is seeking NHS substantive consultants to undertake additional private work with us. The position will require travel, and the clinics will usually be on a weekend, you chose when you wish to work and where you wish to work. You will undertake dermatological diagnostic procedures as well as prescribing in outpatient clinics. You will be paid a very competitive rate for consultations with patients as part of waiting list initiatives, we offer flexibility and additional earning opportunities. We cover the costs of travel and arrange your accommodation near to the clinic where you will deliver the service.

The post holder will be accountable to the Medical Director and provide a service in line with local NHS Trust operating guidelines. You are a highly efficient and effective consultant who is patient focussed and highly knowledgeable.

Main duties of the job

Candidates must have:

12 months experience in a substantive NHS Consultant Post

Full GMC registration

Indemnity insurance

Sole trader / Registered Limited Company

You will be supported by, and work with, a diverse multi-skilled professional team of clinical and non-clinical friendly staff. Medinet work with NHS Trusts across the UK to provide additional capacity, to ensure waiting time targets are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main duties and responsibilities:

Provide a comprehensive and systematic assessment of the patient to include lifestyle impact

In partnership with the patient, and where appropriate the provider, agree a treatment plan in accordance with the diagnosis and prognosis of the condition

Support the ability of patients to self-manage through education and assist patients and their carers on their conditions and offer advice on management of daily activities, preventative measures, equipment and health promotion

Ensure that the patient is fully aware of procedure and treatment options and associated risks to facilitate informed consent

Ensure that the patient is provided with the relevant information to allow informed choice and awareness of their condition and management. This must include details for support groups

Regarding face to face clinics, on completion of treatment produce a comprehensive final report which includes diagnosis, management and recommendations - reports must be completed.

Adhere to standard appointment times: as per local agreement.

To regularly update availability on the plan day app in order that placements may be organised in an effective and efficient way.

Attend agreed clinical placements as organised through the Planday app.

To maintain good working relationships with the contracting NHS Trust and their referring GPs

To respond in a timely manner to complaints and provide witness statements as required as part of incident management.

To participate, if required, in case reviews or investigation panels for serious incidents.

Undertake mandatory training as required and to provide evidence of completion in a timely manner, including annual appraisal.

To contribute to the accurate collection of statistical information.

Remote tele-dermatology as required - Complete assessments and the associated reports for teledermatological episodes allocated to you within 24 hour of image capture

PLACE OF WORK

The post holder will be required to work across the UK in line with service needs but limited by personal preference.
