Job summary

We are looking for a CEO to bring inspirational Leadership to The Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance (CRGPA).

Our mission is to Strengthen primary care for a stronger NHS and we will do this at the S.I.D.E of general practice: Supporting, Innovating, Developing and Educating. We have been supporting local general practice and patients since 2015 and are a private company limited by shares, operating on a not-for-profit basis. As an organisation, we are wholly owned by local Coventry and Rugby GP practices (98% of eligible practices in Coventry, and 45% in Rugby. The CEO role will offer the opportunity to lead our talented and committed team to achieve our strategic priorities, agreed by the board. The successful candidate will lead the team to balance the overall performance of our service provision, ensuring our financial viability, growing the organisation to ensure our long term sustainability and also ensuring that we meets all our statutory & service obligations.

This role will be 22.5 hours per week. However, there may be flexibility around number of hours, as well as the days these hours are worked.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure the long-term sustainability and strategic direction of CRGPA as an essential and valuable member of the Integrated Care System in Coventry and Warwickshire.
  • Cultivate fruitful partnerships with commissioners, partner providers and other key stakeholders.
  • Promote and position CRGPAS highly effective services acting as the key external ambassador for the organisation.
  • Advise the Board on the strategic direction and organisational development, leading the timely implementation of decisions taken.
  • Develop and lead an effective, positive, and engaged Senior Leadership Team to deliver the objectives as set out in the business plan.
  • Represent the organisation externally at place, system, and national level. Liaising with multiple stakeholders including patients, GPs, other clinicians, ICB, NHS Trusts, community service providers and key infrastructure and service suppliers.
  • Keep up to date with policy developments to take advantage of potential business opportunities. Participate in the organisations On-call rota when implemented.
  • Behave consistently with the NHS Code of Conduct for Managers. Behave consistently with the regulations relating to the Fit and Proper Persons test for Board members.
  • Take responsibility for keeping up to date and reviewing personal development needs and objectives, including participating in an annual appraisal.
  • With the Chair, develop and agree a personal development plan that supports continuous development and continuous improvement.

About us

The Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance is a private company limited by shares, wholly owned by local Coventry and Rugby GP practices. As a GP led organisation, we represent 50 GP practice shareholders and cover nearly 420,000 patients.

We describe our work in terms of Supporting, Innovating, Developing and Educating - we are on the S.I.D.E. of general practice and we have developed our Operational Plans to describe what we are going to do over this year to ensure that we continue to high quality, accessible and responsive services for both practices and patients.
