Eastern AHSN
(Academic Health Science Network) has an exciting opportunity for a Data
Manager to join our Health
Informatics team, delivering a
portfolio of work that focuses on providing secure environments for storing and
accessing health data for research and innovation.
This is a chance to join a fast growing, dynamic company,
whose purpose is to turn great ideas into positive health impact. Citizens,
academia, health services and industry achieve more working together than in
isolation. As part of a national network, we make this happen by bringing
together all partners in the health sector, to develop and deliver innovative
care. We are an independent company funded mostly through public money
from the NHS, but we work with a wide range of innovative organisations in the
public and private sectors.
Main duties of the job
A bit more on the
role
You
will be involved in several projects, with cross-cover being an important
aspect of our team.
Your
primary focus will be to assess existing processes, data and user access to
support the sustainable use of data including, but not limited to, research
studies. Projects are generally in partnership with academic or NHS institutes
and can be in collaboration with industry. This will involve administration of
database instances, supporting the design of new databases, database management
tasks, cataloguing of data, developing, monitoring maintaining data pipelines
as well as assisting in developing options for system improvements.
We
encourage applications from those with a strong background in data management
regardless of industry.
This post is based in
our Cambridge office. We offer flexible working arrangements. Our staff
combine on-site and remote working, enabling us to come together when it
matters most and promote a healthy work-life balance. There
will be an occasional requirement to travel within the Eastern region and attend
events or meeting further afield.
About us
Our
purpose at Eastern AHSN is to turn great ideas into positive health impact.
We
were established by the NHS to convene all partners in the health sector, to
develop and deliver innovative solutions in health and care. Our focus is the
East of England, but we are also part of a national network which enables us to
deliver at scale.
Citizens,
academia, health services and industry will achieve more working together than
they will in isolation. Our job is to make this happen. We do this by helping
innovators to navigate complex systems, generate value propositions and connect
stakeholders to overcome challenges together.
