Job summary

Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of Trainee Sexual Health Nurse at Newcastle. There are a number of posts available up to and including full-time/part-time with a salary of £28,407.00 to £34,581.00 pro rata, depending on experience.

 

Main duties of the job

Role Summary 

The successful applicant will deliver level one sexual health services as outlined by the Department of Health in the National Strategy for Sexual Health. They will provide advanced level 2/3 services, including screening, diagnosing, and treating sexually transmitted infections, and managing contraceptive methods. This role involves educating patients, initiating referrals for partner notification, and offering broader sexual health support. You will contribute to pathway and systems development, work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and mentor nursing and medical students. Adherence to Patient Group Directions for medication dispensing is required unless you are a Nurse Prescriber. 

Required Skills/Qualifications

We are looking for the candidate to have the following:

Registered Nurse Level 1

Diploma/Degree in nursing or speciality related to post

A keen interest in sexual health and knowledge of sexual health policies

A willingness to undertake the required training courses

Excellent communication skills

Desirable requirements

Post registration experience in sexual health or related field

Level 2/3 safeguarding children and adults

Knowledge of domestic violence issues

IT skills
