Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our team at Ellern Mede. You will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and psychological wellbeing of young people through engaging, meaningful activities that reflect their interests and support their recovery.

Working closely with the multi disciplinary team, you will help plan, design, and deliver a varied programme of activities that promote independence, social interaction, and a sense of fun. The role also involves assisting with general administration to support the smooth operation of the hospital.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver group and individual activities that enhance quality of life and support therapeutic goals.

Work with each young person to understand their interests, strengths, and needs.

Organise internal and external events, ensuring safe practice and appropriate support.

Help foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment that promotes engagement.

Support general administrative tasks linked to activity coordination and patient wellbeing.

About us

Ellern Mede is an internationally renowned specialist service supporting young people with eating disorders. Our multidisciplinary team offers tailored inpatient treatments, ranging from short-term recovery-focused interventions to intensive support for complex cases. We currently operate across three active sites as part of the EMG group.

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications.

Desirable

  • A degree or coursework in Psychology or a related field

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with young people or in a healthcare setting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals who may have experienced trauma.

Desirable

  • Experience in designing or delivering activities in a clinical, education, or youth work setting.
