Main duties of the job
As a healthcare assistant you will be working directly with our patients, being apart of their support network and patient care treatment.
You will be expected to understand our patients needs as stated in their care plan and prioritise their well being at all times.
As a healthcare assistant you can expected to;
- Implement care plan requirements
- Assisting in feeds,
- Partaking in various activities with our patients,
- Attend to personal care needs,
- Be involved in supervisions,
- Always be vigilant and aware of the patients safety at all times,
- Report any incidents and be aware of safeguarding,
- Make our patients feel safe and respected,
- And most importantly being someone they can trust.
We can accommodate Full Time and Part Time Hours. -
On all shifts, you will be expected to work 2 weekend per months and be flexible to working day and night shifts.-
- Working with children and young people with eating disorders can be exceptionally challenging.
- You will need to be emotionally resilient at times, however you will be working as part of team who will support you as well.
- A full enhanced DBS is required for this role. If you do not currently have one, we are able to complete the application on your behalf*

About us
Ellern Mede has been providing evidence-based specialised treatment for children and young people with eating disorders since 2000. We support children and young people as inpatients aged 8 to 18 years as well as young adults aged 18 to 25, and outpatients aged 12 to 25. We offer a full care pathway to achieve exceptional rates of recovery. We can assist young people who are emerging from CAMHS to continue into adult services, to the community or back home. We never give up on a patient We have four hospitals: Ridgeway offers 28 inpatient beds for children and young people aged 8 to 18 years old across three units, Lask, Nunn and the Cottage. Barnet offers up to 16 inpatient beds across two units, Ash and Rowan. These are split between young people under and over 18. Moorgate offers 12 inpatient beds across two units, Aztec and Inca, Aztec being for 18 to 25 year olds and Inca being for people under 18. Derby offers 17 inpatient beds across two units, Trent and Derwent, Trent being for 18 to 25 year olds and Derwent being for people under 18.
