The Nurse Associate plays a key role in shaping the delivery of nursing care for the future.
As a Nurse Associate, you will be involved in shaping and supporting patients to manage their clinical care needs and you will be central in ensuring they live vibrant lives and enjoy meaningful lives. You will be working closely with our nurses and members of the multidisciplinary team carrying out all aspects of care and the individual assessment process for patients to deliver excellent clinical care including at the end of life.
Main duties of the job
Carry out annual reviews
Perform tasks related to patient care
Promote health and well-being
Support and advise women regarding family planning needs
Ability to document consultations
Be aware of statutory and local clinical adult and children safeguarding protection procedures
Mandatory training to be completed on an annual basis
Able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis, perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, obtain and document informed consent
Ensure infection control guidelines are maintained
Chaperoning patients where appropriate
Assisting GPs with minor surgery, vasectomy and family planning clinics
Requesting pathology tests
Confidentiality of information must be preserved at all times
Assist in practice audits, CQC compliance evidence and QOF recalls
Take lead on local incentive project
Cytology
Childhood Immunisations & Vaccinations
Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients
Manage maintenance of stock and equipment

Primary Care Networks (PCN) are developing new and exciting additional roles under the 2020 scheme, to support GPs and clinical teams at enhancing patient services in the local community.
There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
