We are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Nutrition & Dietetics Specialist to support catering services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. In this key role, you'll provide expert nutrition and dietetic guidance to ensure our catering provision meets current nutritional standards while supporting patient care, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with catering teams, healthcare professionals, and colleagues across the wider Sodexo business, you'll play a vital role in menu planning, special diet provision, menu analysis, and responding to technical and nutritional queries. Acting as a strategic link between Trust Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists, Doctors, Nursing staff, and Sodexo, you'll help ensure food and hydration standards truly support patient wellbeing.
You'll also deliver diet and nutrition education and training to Sodexo teams, helping to build confidence, capability, and consistency across services. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine clinical expertise with operational impact in a role that supports patient care and business growth.
Main duties of the job
What You'll Do
Provide expert inhouse nutrition and dietetics advice, informed by current research, best practice, and publications. Maintain Up-To-Date knowledge of clinical and food service nutrition, supporting a robust CPD portfolio. Interpret and apply relevant standards and guidelines, including those from the Care Quality Commission, British Dietetic Association, and National Association of Care Catering, translating them into practical nutritional targets and diet coding criteria.
Monitor and evaluate contract standards relating to dietetics and collaborate with Trusts on nutritional care, hydration, dementia care, and other patient focused initiatives. Contribute to product development by identifying gaps and new ideas, liaising with the Apetito dietitian when developing service offers. Create menus and deliver accurate nutritional analysis and allergen information tailored to specific patient groups.
What You'll Bring
HCPC registration as a UK Dietitian with evidence of ongoing CPD and membership of the BDA Food Services Specialist Group. Relevant dietetics experience, including NHS exposure and work within food service or manufacturing environments. Experience developing menus for cook-chill and cook-freeze systems, strong food safety knowledge, and competence in nutritional analysis software. Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, with confidence in nutrition, dietetics, and current food service trends.

support compliance.
Responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating dietetic
standards within contracts collaborating with the trust on nutritional care
hydration and dementia initiatives and supporting other nutrition focused
patient care priorities the role contributes to product and menu development
identifies gaps in existing ranges and collaborates with external dietetic
partners where required.
The postholder creates menus and provides nutritional
analysis and allergen information for specific patient groups supports menu and

feedback attend nutrition steering groups and continuously improve access to
