What is Bank Work?
Bank vacancies are not contracted to fixed hours; instead, they allow workers to pick shifts that align with their availability. Our Bank workers enable HMT to managing fluctuating demand, such as covering staff absences, busy periods, or unexpected workload increases whilst offering you the flexibility pick up shifts as available.
Main duties of the job
The key element of this role is to offer a friendly service to all hospital users, and to respond in a professional manner and work within the agreed parameters relating to information security, data protection and patient confidentiality.
They deliver the highest standard of administration support to the outpatient department. The postholder will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative duties such as supporting the receipt of medical information from patients, including health questionnaires and GP summaries. Also providing administrative support with staff rosters, room bookings, outpatient appointments and dealing with queries in a professional and courteous manner. He/ she will also ensure all test results are available for the clinics.

Arrange appointments using the required software and Microsoft Outlook.
Manage room bookings for outpatient services, ensuring availability and readiness for scheduled appointments.
Obtain test results in preparation for consultant and nurse led clinics
Scanning patient information on to software programmes, working within the guidelines of confidentiality and data protection policies.
Maintain a data base of any outstanding information required pre-operatively as part of the pre assessment process, e.g GP summaries.
Provide administrative assistance in developing staff rosters to optimise departmental operations.
Address queries from patients and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Serve as a point of contact for outpatient-related inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
Prioritise tasks effectively to manage own workload, ensuring that all administrative functions are completed efficiently. Monitor and adjust priorities as necessary to meet departmental needs and deadlines.
