Job summary

As a key member of the Learning & Development team and supported by the Head of Learning & Development, the post holder will be working with the Practice Educator to support the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within the Healthcare Management Trust portfolio.

The HMT portfolio encompasses both hospitals and care homes across the UK, and as the Assistant Practice Educator you will play a key role in ensuring that the workforce has the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional care to patients and residents.

Main duties of the job

The role predominantly based in the south, but travel to other sites within the HMT portfolio may be required to support organisational need.

Driving licence essential & frequent travel required

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide high- quality, evidence- based training, education & simulation to both clinical and non-clinical staff within the HMT group. Utilising the organisations Learning Management System (LMS), whilst demonstrating awareness of different learning styles and diversity, adapting training accordingly

Supporting in the development of high quality, evidence based educational materials and competencies, for face to face, online and blended delivery. Ensuring organisational and regulatory standards and requirements.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to network, build professional relationships and enhance the profile of the organisation. Including The NHS, Universities, colleges and the PIVO sector.

Work closely with HMT sites in the delivery of student placements and assessments, ensuring the relevant standards are met and HMT maintains it target training compliance level.

Supporting HMT sites in the delivery of induction/onboarding

Support site level in house trainers to ensure education materials, delivery frequencies and trainer competency and compliance levels. Supporting in the development and delivery of an in house train the trainer programme. Monitor and report on Care home training compliance.

  • Experience of teaching and educational knowledge to be able to create effective teaching and learning environments
  • Proven evidence of a wide range of clinical skills knowledge and the ability to deliver a broad range of clinical and non-clinical skills training & Education

Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in training e.g. AET (Award in Education and Training) or PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) or an Assessors Qualification, or have proven experience in a training role.
  • Level 2 and 3 diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent NVQs), or similar.
  • Train the Trainer Qualification or willingness to work towards
