Main duties of the job
Role PurposeLead and inspire a team to deliver exceptional experiences that promote residents independence and enhance their daily lives.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the highest standards of care by supporting residents with personal needs, including hygiene, dressing, and continence management, while adhering to policies, regulations, and care plans. Assess and document residents' evolving physical, social, and psychological needs, collaborating with relatives and health professionals to ensure quality of life. Oversee medication management, including storage, administration, and disposal, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
Maintain rigorous monitoring and documentation, including admissions, care plans, incident reporting, and complaints. Act as an ambassador during external visits and new resident assessments. Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, families, and stakeholders, ensuring the team is prepared for regulator inspections.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, manage risks, and maintain clinical expertise aligned with the NMC Code of Conduct. Lead and mentor staff, conducting appraisals, supervision, and training. Manage staffing rotas to meet residents needs with appropriate skill mixes.
Promote teamwork, quality assurance through audits, and continual professional development. Participate in reflective practice and uphold high nursing care standards while ensuring the smooth operation of shifts

1. To lead and motivate a team to deliver special experiences to residents, which promote choice
and independence that make a positive difference to their daily lives.
2. Oversee and deliver the highest possible standards of care and outcomes for residents by
ensuring colleagues meet individual care needs in accordance with policies and procedures,
regulations, codes of conduct and individual care plans. This includes, but is not limited to
assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing and continence management.
3. Review, assess and evaluate our residents changing physical, social and psychological needs, in
conjunction with relatives and health professionals, to ensure their care needs are accurately
met and documented to enhance their quality of life.
4. Follow rigorous monitoring and recording practice; documenting efficiently and thoroughly all
matters relating to our residents and employees. E.g. timely assessment on admission, person
centred care planning, on-going review, incident reporting, complaints (datix) and
management.
5. Oversee all aspects of medicine management, ensuring medicines are appropriately received,
stored and administered to our residents, and where necessary disposed of, in accordance
with medicine management approved guideline and protocols, ensuring each stage is properly
documented.

12. Under the supervision of the home leadership team, responsible for the staffing rota, ensuring
staffing levels are appropriate to residents needs and dependency, with the correct skill mix.
13. Promote at all times an atmosphere in which all staff members feel a connection to our
residents, their Home and the wider organisation.
14. To understand the key targets, aspiration and strategic plan for your Home and support the
Home Manager in the achievement of these.
15. Participate in the delivery of all aspects of resident care.
